Included Markers

5 markers
Anti-HAV (Hepatitis A Antibody) Anti-HBs (Hepatitis B Immunity) Hepatitis C Antibody Hepatitis B Core Antibody Hepatitis B Surface Antigen

This screening checks for Hepatitis A, B, and C, including an immunity check for Hepatitis B. It provides a focused overview for those who want insight into their hepatitis status.

Why this test?

Hepatitis infections affect the liver and can sometimes be present without symptoms for extended periods. This screening covers the three most common types (A, B, and C) and includes a check for Hepatitis B immunity, which may be relevant for those who have been vaccinated or had a previous infection.

Who is this test for?

This test may be relevant for:

  • People who want to check their hepatitis status
  • Those who are unsure about their Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity status
  • Anyone who has had potential exposure to hepatitis through sexual contact, travel, or other circumstances
  • People who want a focused liver-infection screening

What is tested?

This panel includes the following markers:

  • Anti-HAV (Hepatitis A Antibody)
  • HBsAg (Hepatitis B Surface Antigen)
  • Anti-HBc (Hepatitis B Core Antibody)
  • Anti-HBs (Hepatitis B Immunity)
  • Anti-HCV (Hepatitis C Antibody)

What can this test tell you?

The markers in this panel can indicate current infection, past exposure, or immunity:

  • Anti-HAV: may indicate past Hepatitis A infection or vaccination
  • HBsAg: if positive, may suggest a current Hepatitis B infection
  • Anti-HBc: may indicate past or ongoing Hepatitis B exposure
  • Anti-HBs: may indicate immunity to Hepatitis B (through vaccination or past infection)
  • Anti-HCV: may indicate exposure to Hepatitis C

Results are best interpreted by a healthcare provider who can consider the full picture.

How is the sample collected?

A blood draw is taken at a certified sample point. The procedure is straightforward and handled discreetly.

When is this test useful?

This screening may be considered:

  • When there has been potential exposure to hepatitis
  • To verify Hepatitis B immunity after vaccination
  • Before or after travel to regions where hepatitis is more prevalent
  • As part of a personal health overview

What do the results mean?

Each marker is reported as reactive or non-reactive. Reactive results may suggest current infection, past exposure, or immunity, depending on the marker. Non-reactive results may indicate that no sign of the infection or antibody was found at the time of testing.

A healthcare provider can help interpret the combination of results and advise on any follow-up that may be appropriate.

Preparation

No specific preparation is needed. Keep in mind that window periods apply: Hepatitis B may take approximately 4 to 6 weeks to become detectable, and Hepatitis C approximately 8 to 12 weeks after potential exposure.

What happens after the results?

Your results are made available securely through your personal account. The report provides a clear overview of each marker. If any result requires attention, you may wish to discuss it with a healthcare provider for further evaluation.

All information is treated with strict confidentiality.

Frequently Asked Questions

The anti-HBs marker shows whether you have immunity, either from vaccination or past infection. If you've been vaccinated, anti-HBs should be positive while HBsAg and HBcAb should be negative.

What We Test

This test includes 5 biomarkers to give you a comprehensive health picture.

An Anti-HAV test detects antibodies against the hepatitis A virus in your blood. A positive result may indicate a past infection or successful vaccination, suggesting immunity against hepatitis A.

Learn more

An Anti-HBs test measures antibodies against the hepatitis B surface antigen in your blood. A positive result typically indicates immunity to hepatitis B, either from a past infection or successful vaccination.

Learn more

A Hepatitis C Antibody (anti-HCV) test detects antibodies produced by the immune system in response to the hepatitis C virus. A positive result indicates exposure to the virus but does not distinguish between a current or past infection. Further testing is needed for confirmation.

Learn more

A Hepatitis B Core Antibody (anti-HBc) test detects antibodies produced in response to the core antigen of the hepatitis B virus. A positive result may indicate a current, past, or resolved hepatitis B infection and should be interpreted alongside other hepatitis B markers.

Learn more

A Hepatitis B Surface Antigen (HBsAg) test detects the presence of HBsAg in your blood, which is one of the earliest indicators of a hepatitis B infection. A positive result may indicate an active hepatitis B infection and should be evaluated by a healthcare professional.
